Game Day Thoughts

Location: Judd's Pad

Status: Hard

12:50 pm -

Judd and Sabo are lifting weights in preparation for a big football game between the New York Football Giants and the Panthers of Carolina.

ESPN just had a segment about a very sick little girl. I really don't think most football fans want to hear about such things immediately before the season gets into full swing. Call me cold, but Sunday is for escape, not thinking about ill children.

Speaking of ill children, Michael Bush is out and I cannot wait to see if Darren McFadden is ready to stake his claim in this league.

I hate Keyshawn Johnson and Cris Carter as analysts. They really have nothing to offer beyond arrogance. The two of them just acted out a skit in which they argue over the football like children. It was a waste of time and gave me second hand embarrassment.

Ugh.

1:13 pm -

Wes Welker scores the first Sunday touchdown. Obviously.

Kevin Boss may be dead. "The Giants have no depth at tight end already," says the announcer. Sweet.

Kickers dominate the early drives.

1:30 pm -

Massaquoi and Nate Washington have big touchdowns. I drafted them early. No I didn't. Vince Young is looking sharp.

DeAngelo Williams should have a touchdown.

Best has a touchdown.

1:37 -

Hot Nicks catches a touchdown from Eli. Very nice.

Benson and Jason Campbell have fumbled.

This shit is awesome.

1:47 pm -

Ronnie Brown has a 1 yard touchdown.

The Patriots defense looks savage, but perhaps the Bengals are not good. Week 1!!

It is always strange how kickers can have such an influence. It is very apparent that although there is no way to draft kickers properly, they do make a difference each and every week. My opinion is that one must play match ups with kickers, and that being invested in a "good" kicker is actually a hinderance.

2:04 pm -

I am very sad about the performance of Ahmad Bradshaw. He looks scurred.

I forgot how much I hate holding calls.

2:16 pm -

Jahvid Best has 2 TDs. This is getting funky.

If Detroit beats Chicago, I think Mike Martz should be brought in front of the firing squad. Is that guy really good at anything? I think he is stupid.

How good does it feel when Peyton Hillis cores touchdowns? How about Jevon Ringer? Not very good.  Not very good at all.

Has anyone said that they hate fantasy football yet?

2:24 pm -

As I begin to hate my Mantasy, Chris Johnson rips offs a 76 yard touchdown. This is a cruel game, but when it comes around, there is nothing better.

Hakeem Nicks is on the verge of fantasy stardom. Only he cannot catch.

2:33 pm -

Hott Nickels has two touchdowns. He is becoming a must start and we are one half into the season. An interesting situation: Sabo had to decide between Nicks an Jonathan Stewart. It seemed like a no-brainer, but Stewart is a clear second option to Williams. Until the injury to Williams, Stewart is an iffy play.

2:47 pm -

Roddy White gets targeted a lot.

Forte has a huge touchdown.

Jason Campbell looks like he is in a similarly terrible situation to Russell, in that he is being hit and fumbling a lot. As an NFC East follower, I knew this guy was not the answer.

3:18 pm -

I've had some beers.

With Matt Stafford hurt, is Calvin Johnson still good. I think not so much. Is Stafford badly hurt. I am concerned.

3:27 pm -

I think we are seeing Vince Young's upside - he has about 16 fantasy points in a beat down. He may end up being solid, but he isn't going to tear it up much.

Nicks has three touchdowns. Wow.

Jeff Reed has two 50 yarders and he missed a third, I believe.

Judd just suggested that next year we have no kickers. I kind of into that. Discuss.

6:18 pm -

Kevin Kolb is bad. And dead. Dead and bad is a useless fantasy combination.

Leon Washington has zero carries thus far. Forsett is equally non-existent, but the Seahawks are beating the life out of the Niners. This makes no sense.

The Cardinals-Rams game sure makes it seem like the Cardinals are not as good without Warner and Boldin, which, if had thought about it much at all, makes a lot of sense.

Peyton Manning is amazing, even when the Colts get beaten.

Arian Foster is this weeks darling, but with Bob Sanders hurt - once again - here's saying that the Colts run defense is in question once more. Next week, they face the Giants.

Both Mike Williams have value.

LeSean McCoy is a son. McCoy is also a bad fantasy running back. I'm assuming I wrote that down somewhere, but if I didn't, I thought it often.
