What's in a Name?

Ah, the art of naming the fantasy team. It is an act that owners are either indifferent about or take very seriously. Something like religion, people tend to be all in or all out, and those in the middle need to do some serious self-analyzation.

Many people work off of a player's name - Ghost Face Spiller (to which I will be changing to shortly) or Manny's Hammy. Other's opt for whimsical ramblings (see: any of Judd's teams). Whatever is chosen, the name is important, as it is that season's link to the numbers; a gateway to the goods, if you will. On top of having to stare at it every time you check your team, the other owner's must endure it as they look at your box score and fear the results. I always name my fantasy baseball team Omar's Coming and accompany it with a picture of the Wire's Omar Little toting a shotgun that is pointed at the viewer. Message received.
